I absolutely love making charcuterie boards for all occasions and seasons, but there is something especially fun about creating them for the fall and winter months. I’m notorious for putting together large charcuterie boards for events, and over the years, I’ve made plenty for both fall gatherings and Christmas parties.

When I’m hosting an event, I think a charcuterie board makes the perfect centerpiece for a buffet or appetizer spread. But I don’t just want it to be a collection of meats, cheeses, and crackers—I love creating a board that ties into the theme of the season and the party. It makes the food feel like part of the décor!

For this particular board, I wanted to create something cozy, festive, and full of fun fall details. Since we were hosting a larger event, I started with a large butcher block cutting board, which gave me plenty of space to arrange everything we had.

A Fun Surprise in the Center

The centerpiece of this fall charcuterie board was one of my favorite parts: a pumpkin pie dish with a lid!

I placed the pumpkin pie dish right in the center of the board and filled it with Buffalo chicken dip. The pumpkin-shaped pie dish not only added the perfect seasonal touch, but it also helped keep the dip warm throughout the party.

And there was something so fun about guests lifting the lid and discovering the Buffalo chicken dip inside! It made the board feel interactive and unexpected, while also giving me the perfect centerpiece to build everything else around.

Giving Classic Charcuterie a Fall Twist

For the rest of the board, I used plenty of traditional charcuterie favorites but added little seasonal touches wherever I could.

For the meats, we included pepperoni, deli-cut chicken, salami, and other sliced meats.

For the cheeses, I kept some simple, like Swiss and pepper jack, but gave the cheddar a fun Halloween twist. I used small cookie cutters to cut the cheddar into pumpkin shapes and scattered them throughout the board.

For the breads and crackers, we used an assortment of crackers along with sliced baguette, giving guests plenty of options for pairing with the meats, cheeses, and dips.

For fruit, I added blackberries and green grapes, which brought in some beautiful fall colors while adding a little freshness to the board. Black olives were another easy addition that fit perfectly with the Halloween-inspired color palette.

Don’t Forget the Sweet Treats!

I also wanted to incorporate some fun seasonal sweets. I added Autumn Mix, candy corn, and Jack-O’-Lantern cookies throughout the board.

We also included white chocolate-covered pretzels and a few other little snacks to bring in the colors of the season and give our guests a nice variety of sweet and savory options.

One of my favorite little details was the cheese ball made to look like a pumpkin. I simply placed pieces of celery into the top to create the look of a pumpkin stem. It was such an easy way to turn an everyday appetizer into something perfect for a fall gathering.

I also placed chopped celery on the board for dipping alongside the Buffalo chicken dip.

And because this was a larger gathering, I added a separate fall bowl next to the board filled with black and orange tortilla chips for the Buffalo chicken dip.

The Perfect Fall Party Centerpiece

What I love most about this board is that it wasn’t just food—it became part of the entire party setup. The pumpkin pie dish, pumpkin-shaped cheese, Halloween candies, Jack-O’-Lantern cookies, and fall-colored snacks all worked together to create one big, cozy seasonal centerpiece.

It was also a great way to offer something for everyone. There were plenty of meats and cheeses, fresh fruit, crunchy crackers and baguettes, savory Buffalo chicken dip, and sweet treats sprinkled throughout.

This charcuterie board ended up being a huge favorite at our party. Everyone loved discovering all of the little seasonal details, and the pumpkin pie dish filled with Buffalo chicken dip was definitely a conversation starter!

If you’re hosting a fall or Halloween gathering this year, don’t be afraid to think beyond the traditional charcuterie board. Use seasonal dishes, cookie cutters, candy, colors, and little surprises to make your board feel completely unique to your event. A few simple details can turn an ordinary appetizer spread into a fun and memorable centerpiece.
