Being a ’90s kid, I truly feel like I grew up during one of the best eras for Halloween. There was just something so special about it. The TV specials, cartoons, movies, decorations, cereals, seasonal snacks, fast-food treats—it all felt so colorful, creative, and full of personality.

Halloween wasn’t just orange and black. It was bright pumpkins, goofy Frankenstein’s, vintage die cuts, window clings, paper decorations, pumpkin string lights, and rich, vibrant colors everywhere you looked. It felt fun, cozy, and impossible not to get excited about.

That’s the feeling we wanted to bring into our home.

We started by decorating our kitchen with vintage-inspired die cuts and Halloween cutouts we found online. The moment they went up, our kitchen instantly felt like the Halloween I remember growing up.

Next, we transformed our little breakfast nook with the coolest nostalgic backdrop, pumpkin lights, a festive tablecloth, and a colorful centerpiece. It completely changed the space and brought those playful, nostalgic colors to life.

Then we had one more idea: what if we hung little orange pumpkins from our kitchen island chandelier? It was such a simple touch, but it completely transformed the room.

Once we added warm orange lighting, autumn leaves, pumpkins, vintage-style cutouts, and all those colorful details, our kitchen felt like stepping right into a Halloween TV special from the ’90s. Every time we walk in, it reminds us of everything we loved about Halloween growing up—and that’s exactly the feeling we were hoping to create.
