Jack-O’-Lantern Grilled Cheese & Ghost Tomato Soup 🎃👻

Grilled cheese and tomato soup are two of the coziest, most classic comfort foods—especially when the weather starts to cool down. This recipe gives the classic combo a fun Halloween twist!

With a Jack-O’-Lantern grilled cheese and adorable ghostly tomato soup, it’s the perfect cozy meal for a fall afternoon, Halloween night, a spooky movie marathon, or a cozy rainy day at home.

Ingredients

For the Grilled Cheese

  • White bread
  • American cheese
  • Butter

For the Tomato Soup

  • 1 container Pacific Creamy Tomato Soup
  • 3 tbsp heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • Seasoning blend: salt, pepper, oregano, onion powder, parsley, and celery flakes
  • Mozzarella cheese slices

Instructions

For the Jack-O’-Lantern Grilled Cheese:

  1. Take your white bread and a small, sharp knife. Carefully cut out Jack-O’-Lantern eyes, a nose, and a mouth. Look for bread that is slightly dry but still soft enough to work with. Bread that is too fresh or too dry can be difficult to cut. Set the Jack-O’-Lantern slices aside.
  2. Butter the other slices of bread and place them butter-side down. Add two slices of American cheese to each sandwich, then place your Jack-O’-Lantern bread on top.
  3. Heat a pan over medium heat and add a little butter or nonstick spray. Place the sandwiches in the pan and cook until the bottom is golden brown. Carefully flip and cook the other side until golden and the cheese is melted.

For the Ghost Tomato Soup:

  1. In a pot over low-medium heat, add the creamy tomato soup, heavy whipping cream, and seasoning blend. Stir together and allow it to slowly warm.
  2. Add the shredded Parmesan cheese and continue stirring until the cheese has completely melted into the soup.
  3. To make the ghosts, place the mozzarella cheese slices on a clean, flat surface. Using small ghost-shaped cookie cutters or a knife, cut out ghost shapes. Carefully cut out two eyes and a little mouth in each ghost.
  4. Plate your Jack-O’-Lantern grilled cheese.
  5. Pour the warm tomato soup into bowls and gently place a mozzarella ghost on top.

Serve with your spooky grilled cheese and enjoy! 🎃👻🍅
